Don’t count out the chances of Dez Bryant playing for the New Orleans Saints next season. That’s one way to interpret the veteran wide receiver’s tweet he sent out recently as a reply to someone insinuating that Bryant should re-sign with New Orleans if he still desires to win a Super Bowl.

Bryant spent the most part of this year looking for an NFL job after being released by the Dallas Cowboys back in March. It took almost 10 weeks of the NFL 2018 season before Bryant put pen on paper when the Saints decided to sign him to a deal just last Tuesday. In a cruel twist of fate, though, Bryant’s career with the Saints looked over before it could even take off, as he sustained a devastating Achilles tendon injury while practicing on Friday.

Bryant is expected to be away from football activities for eight months while he’s recovering. The timing of the injury also means that he could make it back to football just in time for next year’s training camp portion of the NFL calendar, but whether he’ll make his return with the Saints is something that remains to be seen.

As for the Saints, they should be able to sustain their explosive offense despite losing Bryant to the injury. After all, they still have Drew Brees orchestrating their lethal attack with the help of running back Alvin Kamara and wide receiver Michael Thomas.
