Tre'Quan Smith is a rookie for the New Orleans Saints, but has already carved out a huge role for himself in the offense. On a team that many believe could end up winning Super Bowl 53, Smith is already proving that he is going to be a very good NFL wide receiver. Drew Brees has certainly grown to trust his young wide receiver.

One of the best parts of his rookie season has been the fact that the Saints' superstar quarterback already trusts him.

In a quote shared by ESPN, Smith talked about how happy he is that he has earned Brees' trust already.

“I kind of threw him by, and Drew [Brees] put it right there on me, and it was a touchdown. He was like, ‘Why do you think I threw you the ball? I trust you.' And [being] a rookie, that just made me so happy inside.”

Smith has had a solid season this year and his role is continuing to increase for the Saints. In the 10 games that he has played this season with the Saints, Smith has caught 22 passes for 371 yards and four touchdowns.

New Orleans will need Smith to continue improving as the playoffs draw closer. They were hoping that veteran wide receiver Dez Bryant would be able to bring more playmaking to their offense, but he tore his Achilles. Brandon Marshall is a quality receiver, but he isn't a huge playmaker.

The Saints' third-round pick from the 2018 NFL Draft is the guy that could help fix that. He has legitimate playmaking potential.

All of that being said, Smith has earned Brees' trust and the rookie has an extremely bright future ahead of him. New Orleans certainly make the right choice by drafting him at No. 91 overall.
