New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has officially come out on top in the fan voting for the upcoming 2019 Pro Bowl.

Brees has led the Saints to a stellar 11-2 record this season, and once again, he's been excellent in his ability to lead an efficient offensive attack on a weekly basis.

Even in his 18th year in the league, Brees is putting up great numbers in throwing for 3,463 yards and 31 touchdowns this season while having just four interceptions.

Apparently, that type of play was good enough to give him the edge in the Pro Bowl fan voting.

From Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk:

Fan voting for the Pro Bowl ended on Thursday, and Saints quarterback Drew Brees finished atop the standings.

Brees received 1,270,631 fan votes, most among all NFL players, while Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes came in second with 1,197,370 votes, the league announced today.

So, while the new quarterback on the block has been magnificent this season, it's clear that the staying power of Brees has helped him continue to be front and center in the minds of fans around the world.

He has thrown at least three touchdowns in seven of New Orleans' games this year, and that's quite an accomplishment when you consider how much time teams spend game-planning for him each week.

Next up for Brees and the Saints is a very intriguing Monday night matchup with the Carolina Panthers, who will travel to New Orleans for the rematch between the two teams in Week 17.
