In his debut with the New Orleans Saints, veteran running back Adrian Peterson participated in only nine snaps finishing with a disappointing 18 yards on six carries.

Following this the Week 1 loss to his former team in the Minnesota Vikings, Peterson expressed frustration in not being as involved as he hoped when he signed with the Saints. Peterson's frustration and New Orleans looking like not an ideal fit, many began to speculate whether the team would try to trade the future Hall of Famer.

Apparently, the team currently has no interest in parting ways with Peterson via trade, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Despite an already shaky beginning to their relationship, the New Orleans Saints are not interested in trading running back Adrian Peterson at this time, according to league sources.

If Peterson continues to play a limited role while the Saints struggle to compete this season, talk of the two sides parting ways may get louder and louder. The veteran is 32 and would be an ideal addition to teams around the league in desperate need of a feature back of his caliber.

So far, the relationship with the Saints hasn't worked out as planned. That could quickly change if Sean Payton and company get him more involved or he has a breakout game, but the prospect of Peterson working out in New Orleans seems unlikely at this point.
