The New Orleans Saints knew they would need to get off to a hot start with the San Francisco 49ers in town in Week 14. Drew Brees and Jared Cook made sure the offense struck first.

Brees was able to find Cook for a 38-yard strike to cap a nine-play, 73-yard drive, via NFL Twitter:

It is no secret that this Saints receiving corps was lacking some serious firepower outside of Michael Thomas in the 2019 NFL season. Fortunately, Cook has enjoyed quite the resurgence as of late and has now managed to haul in a touchdown in three of the last four games.

Thomas will likely continue to draw the attention of the formidable 49ers defense in this heavyweight NFC showdown. The onus will fall on Brees to make do with the weapons at his disposal and it is safe to say that Cook is more than up to the task early on.
