The New Orleans Saints re-signed utility man Taysom Hill to a two-year, $16 million deal in the offseason following a first-round tender placed on the BYU product. After officially announcing Hill's return to the NFC South franchise. the Saints shared a hype video on their social media page welcoming him back (via Saints Wire).

Hill, 29, was an undrafted free agent in 2017, later appearing in every regular-season game with the Saints in 2018 and 2019. Head coach Sean Payton and New Orleans have utilized the former Cougars quarterback in a variety of ways; out in the backfield, lined up wide with the receivers, and on trick plays under center. Hill totaled 234 receiving yards on 19 catches for six touchdowns this past season.

Ultimately, the Saints did not view Hill as a permanent backup quarterback as Teddy Bridgewater got the five starts (and wins) when Drew Brees went down for a stretch in 2019. With Bridgewater signing elsewhere as a free agent this offseason, the Saints re-signed Hill (and could be signing former first-overall pick Jameis Winston soon).

But, for New Orleans, Hill was still valuable enough to retain at a nice price tag for the not-a-quarterback.
