One of the most meaningful games in New Orleans Saints history involved a blocked punt early against the Atlanta Falcons. Taysom Hill wrote the same script in 2019 on Thanksgiving Night.

Saints fans remember and cherish the first game in the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina. Steve Gleason blocked a punt against the Falcons on September 25, 2006.

A little over 13 years later, also against the Falcons, Taysom Hill blocked a punt to give the Saints great field position on Thursday Night Football:

The Saints cashed in the short field, scoring a touchdown for a 7-0 lead against the Falcons. The man who scored the touchdown is the same man who blocked the punt: Taysom Hill. The BYU swashbuckler scored from three yards out:

The Saints and Taysom Hill want to avenge their loss to the Falcons a few weeks ago. More than that, they want to maintain a top-two seeding position, which would give them a bye in the wild card round of the NFC Playoffs.

The Saints play the San Francisco 49ers on Dec. 8. If they win this game, that contest against the 49ers will be for the temporary No. 1 seeding position in the NFC.
