The Kansas City Chiefs cruised to a 34-20 statement win against another contender in the Baltimore Ravens. A huge 2nd quarter explosion by the defending Super Bowl champions eventually sealed their third victory to start the season.

The scoring party was highlighted by unusual recipients in fullback Anthony Sherman and left tackle Eric Fisher. Both plays were well-executed by both players which earned the praise and support of wide receiver Sammy Watkins.

“Guys that don’t get recognized a lot,” he said, via Nate Taylor of TheAthletic.com. “Guys that behind the scenes do well and do their job to the best of their ability. They definitely got rewarded tonight and that’s something special. If we just continue to do that, and just have fun and enjoy this, it’s going to be a great season.”

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes balled out in a highly-anticipated matchup against the reigning NFL MVP in Baltimore's Lamar Jackson. He recorded 385 passing yards on 31/42 passes completed along with three passing touchdowns and a scoring drive.

Tight end Travis Kelce was a common target as he racked up 87 yards on 6 touches. Wideout Mecole Hardman added finished with 81 yards on 4 receptions, receiver Tyreek Hill contributed 77 yards on 5 catches while pass-catcher Sammy Watkins hauled in 62 yards on 7 touches.

Rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire continued his good showing with a total of 64 rushing yards on 20 carries. The Chiefs' defense also asserted their dominance by limiting Jackson to a mere 97 passing yard-output on 15-of-28 completions.

Mahomes and the rest of the team will aim for their fourth win in a row when they host the New England Patriots on October 4.
