According to the Associated Press, former NBA center Samuel Dalembert has been charged with two counts of battery due to an incident with his girlfriend.

Officers responded to a 911 call to Dalembert's home on Sunday evening, when he allegedly became violent with his girlfriend and one of her family members.

It was there that he was arrested and taken to jail before making bail and released in Boca Raton, according to the report.

“A Boca Raton police report says police responded to Dalembert's home Sunday evening after a 911 hang-up. The woman and her cousin initially told officers nothing was wrong but eventually said the 7-foot, 270-pound Dalembert became upset after finding out that his girlfriend was leaving for Orlando with their two children.”

The cousin told police Dalembert pushed the girlfriend down and then choked the cousin when he tried to intervene. Dalembert was arrested on two counts of battery and released from jail.

Dalembert played 13 seasons in the NBA, beginning his career with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2001. He played for five more teams after his eight seasons with the Sixers, ending his last season in the 2014-2015 season in New York.

Dalembert averaged 7.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in his NBA career.
