Though he's currently the league's most accurate shooter from beyond the arc, San Antonio Spurs forward Davis Bertans has not received an invitation to this season's three-point contest.

Bertans, now 26 years of age, is knocking down 49.2 percent of his shots from downtown — a remarkable feat by any stretch. However, the NBA feels that he hasn't taken enough threes this season to earn an invite.

The NBA's logic is a bit strange, as there are others with invites who have taken less shots from downtown this season, including Dallas Mavericks big man Dirk Nowitzki and Trail Blazers guard Seth Curry. Bertans has only taken 179 threes this season, but Curry, who is 2nd in three-point percentage, has only taken 131. Dirk (47 threes this season) has taken even less.

Everyone knows the NBA wants their brightest stars included in the All-Star festivities, but the fact that Bertans has been omitted is not a good look. Clearly, he deserves to be there.

In 45 appearances with the Spurs this season (four starts), Bertans has racked up averages of 8.0 points on 50.4 percent shooting from the field (49.2 percent from beyond the arc), 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 20.3 minutes per outing.

The NBA hasn't officially announced this season's participants, which means there is still time for reconsideration. Hopefully, Bertans will get an invite after all.
