In victory one Bay Area-based newspaper chose to throw shade.

The San Francisco Examiner ran a headline after the Golden State Warriors’ NBA title win this week that read “Mr. Reliable” alongside a huge photo of Kevin Durant.

It was a clear shot at The Oklahoman newspaper, which is based out of Oklahoma City and once ran this infamous headline back in 2014.

The Oklahoman was ripped for this ridiculous headline back then, which was an attempt to take an uncalled for shot at Durant after he had come up short at the end of a playoff game for the Thunder against the Grizzlies. Of course, it didn’t add up to call KD “Mr. Unreliable” considering what he had done for the franchise and city up to that point.

Durant has pretty much always been reliable, but maybe no more so than during these 2017 NBA Finals when he took home the Finals MVP award while leading the Warriors to the series victory in five games.
