The Seattle Seahawks had one of the worst defenses in football from start to finish in 2019. However, Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner and the rest of the team are hungry to turn things around this season.

“We're hungry,” Bobby Wagner said, via John Boyle of the Seahawks team website. “We can look back defensively from last year and really know that we didn't play to the level that we could've played. We don't want to lower the standard. The standard is set, and we want to make sure that we reach that standard and push that standard up. So I plan on being better, our defense plans on being better. I feel like that gives us a lot of optimism.”

This past season, the Seahawks finished ranked 26th in total defense and 22nd in scoring defense. Additionally, they gave up 130 explosive plays (passes of 16 or more yards or runs of 12 or more). Fortunately, Seahawks general manager John Schneider was able to revamp their defense this offseason by signing and trading for several key defensive acquisitions.

The Seahawks filled a huge need in their cornerback position by acquiring Quinton Dunbar from the Washington Redskins. The 6-foot-2 cornerback had four interceptions in 11 starts last season. Furthermore, they were able to sign able to resign defensive tackle Jarran Reed, who played an exceptional season in the 2019 season.

Nevertheless, as Wagner said, the Seahawks will be able to look back at how their defense performed last season and will be able to learn from it this season.
