On Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks achieved a victory against the Carolina Panthers to secure their spot in the playoffs. However, the win may have come at a cost as Bobby Wagner injured his ankle in the process.

After the win, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll announced the Wagner sprained his ankle, per Around The NFL.

The injury happened late in the game, so he was able to put his stamp on the win. He was easily the best Seahawks' defender on the field, notching 10 tackles, two pass deflections, and an interception that ran for six yards. His production and leadership were keys for Seattle's victory over a less-talented Panthers squad that showed a lot of fight.

Fortunately, the injury is just a sprain. With enough rest, he could be available to play the Arizona Cardinals in a game that will play a role in the Seahawks' playoff seeding.

After the win, Wagner said that he is okay. He also wants people to vote for him for the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.

I definitely was scared, but I’m good,” said Wagner, via Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune. “The doctor said that if everybody goes out and voted for me for (NFL Walter Payton) Man of the Year that it will be better. That’s what he said.”

Wagner is leading all defenders in the NFL with his 129 tackles over 13 games. He also has two sacks and a fumble recovery to his name, proving that he is well on his way to another All-Pro nod.
