Seattle Seahawks running back Carlos Hyde is ruled out of the team's Week 4 matchup against the Miami Dolphins due to a sustained shoulder injury. He was a limited participant during the team's practice back in Wednesday as the Seahawks aim for their fourth-straight win of the season.

The Seahawks PR account posted the team's list of inactive players ahead of their game on Sunday via Twitter:

The former Ohio State Buckeye underwent surgery during the offseason to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder. However, it is still unclear if his latest injury is related to his recent operation.

Hyde was poised to take on a bigger role after fellow ball-carrier Chris Carson suffered a first-degree knee sprain. In a surprising turn of events, the former is now sidelined while the latter is expected to play in their upcoming game. Sophomore running back Travis Homer will aim to rotate in the backfield while rookie DeeJay Dallas will also look to contribute in the ground attack.

The 30-year old running back served as a potent weapon for the Seahawks offense where he tallied 23 yards on 7 touches along with a scored touchdown in their 38-25 opening game win against the Atlanta Falcons.

He came up with a 22 rushing yard output on 5 carries in a nail-biting 35-30 victory against the New England Patriots and tallied 12 yards on 4 receptions in their 38-31 triumph against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Seahawks are aiming to execute a dominant performance in their game against the Dolphins in order to preserve their unblemished record in the early stages of the season.
