Colin Kaepernick and the Seattle Seahawks are a match made in football heaven, that is according to Hall of Famer Warren Moon.
Moon, who suited up as a quarterback for the Seahawks from 1997 to 1998, certainly knows a thing or two about the Seattle brand of football. With that said, he thinks Kaepernick might be a good fit for the team.
“They know what he can do as a player cause they've been against him many times in the division when he was the starting QB in San Francisco.” Warren Moon told TMZ. “It's just a matter of whether he still wants to play football. I think the Seahawks style of play fits what he likes to do and I think it would be a good fit if he wants to play football.”
The former San Francisco 49ers QB hasn't played professionally since he was left unsigned before the 2017 regular season, largely due to his kneeling protest in the previous campaign. Now that constant pressure is being applied to the league and team owners to not just understand the movement against racial and social injustice but to rather accept and welcome it, Moon is saying that Colin Kaepernick should be given another shot as long as he puts the time in.
“If he's willing to play football and put the time in that's its gonna take to be a quarterback in the NFL, he definitely deserves an opportunity to get that because he was definitely misinterpreted 4 years ago with his stand.” Moon added.
In 2018, the Seahawks were actually in line to give the quarterback a chance to sign with them, but Kaepernick's workout in Seattle was reportedly canceled because Kap wouldn't commit to standing during the national anthem, if signed. Let's see how 2020 works out for these two camps.
