Seattle Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf evidently had enough confidence to take off his shirt in a pre-draft meeting with the Seahawks but receiving a call from his quarterback Russell Wilson was still a bit shocking to him.

After being drafted in the second round with the 64th overall pick, Wilson FaceTimed him, which caught the rookie a bit off guard.

“I was amazed, kind of shocked,” Metcalf told reporters on Saturday via the Pro Football Talk. “But I had to realize that was my teammate and I wasn’t a fan anymore.”

Metcalf said he just listened to everything that Wilson had to say but most importantly Wilson said that he was ready to get to work.

“I just listened to what he had to say,” Metcalf said. “He just said he was excited to have me and just time to get to work.”

Metcalf has gotten to work at the teams rookie minicamp and coach Pete Carroll said that Metcalf might be even more unique than the team thought when drafting him.

“He may be even more unique than we thought,” he said after getting a look at the team's second-round pick during rookie minicamp, per Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.

“There has never been a guy who ran any faster who was that big and strong at the combine,” he added, referencing Metcalf's blazing time of 4.33 seconds in the 40-yard dash. “So he's got all those things behind him. Now he's got to figure out how to play football.”

Those comments are good news for Wilson and the rest of the Seahawks squad as they try to win another Super Bowl.
