The Seattle Seahawks aren't having any luck with wide receivers, are they? There was the Doug Baldwin situation. One of the great Seahawk receivers of all time had to retire due to injury.

Now, the Seahawks are facing problems with their new crop of receivers. Rookie DK Metcalf is injured, and now David Moore is joining him.

This sounds bad, but maybe not that bad at the same time. Head coach Pete Carroll calls it “serious” but then says he's “not expected to be back by Week 1.” While that may seem to back up his claims, I'm going to look on the positive side.

Maybe this injury isn't that serious if there's even a chance Moore will return by the first week of the regular season. After all, saying he's “not expected” back by then means there's a slight chance he is.

Losing David Moore is a pretty big blow. Selected in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Moore didn't play that season. However, he got some time in 2018 and did the most with it.

Appearing in 16 games, Moore picked up 26 receptions. While that isn't all that much, he did manage a very solid 446 yards and five touchdowns to go with it.

With Baldwin gone, it was expected that Moore would be relied on much heavier.

Now a wrench might be thrown in those plans. It's clearly unclear how long Moore will be out for. Long enough that the Seahawks feel it's necessary to call it serious.

Hopefully this won't derail David Moore's big chance to prove he can be a top receiver on the Seattle Seahawks (or any team in the NFL, for that matter).
