The Seattle Seahawks are coming off one of their worst seasons in recent memory, failing to reach the playoffs after finishing with a 7-10 record. The team has a busy offseason ahead as it looks to rebound from the down year, and one of the focal points during the time off will be to lock down a contract extension for star wideout DK Metcalf. Speaking on the possibility of renewing his deal in Seattle, Metcalf made it sound like a virtual guarantee that a deal would get done, via Bob Condotta.

Metcalf didn't hesitate when telling the media that a new contract with the Seahawks is “going to get done,” suggesting the 24-year-old is in Seattle for the long haul. While that's a huge plus for the future in Seattle, Metcalf has been nursing a foot injury that has hampered him for the past 14 games. Offseason surgery remains on the table to fix his ailing foot, though it's unclear if that's the route the wide receiver will take.

There's a lot of uncertainty surrounding the future of the Seahawks, but Metcalf's comments should reassure fans that not everything is going to come crashing down during the offseason. Both Russell Wilson and Pete Carroll face uncertain futures with the organization, but regardless of what happens with them, Metcalf is committing himself to the franchise.

In 2021, Metcalf featured in all 17 games for the Seahawks. The third-year receiver hauled in 75 receptions for 967 yards and a career-high 12 touchdown receptions. He was targeted 129 times on the year, catching 58.1% of the passes thrown his way.
