Nate Burleson of NFL Network's “Good Morning Football” picked Seattle Seahawks wideout D.K. Metcalf as his top “breakout” receiver in 2020.

Burleson also listed San Francisco 49ers game-breaker Deebo Samuel and Houston Texans wideout Will Fuller, as well as rookie receivers CeeDee Lamb and Henry Ruggs.

Of course, it could be argued a couple of these guys on the list already broke out, notably Metcalf.

The 22-year-old had a big rookie season with the Seahawks, hauling in 58 receptions for 900 yards and seven touchdowns last season. Metcalf averaged 15.5 yards per reception, frequently asserting himself as a jump-ball receiver for quarterback Russell Wilson.

Metcalf was initially believed to be one of the top receiving prospects in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The former Mississippi product–who is listed at 6'4″ and 229 pounds–ran a ridiculous 4.33 40-yard dash at the scouting combine and also had a 40.5-inch vertical leap. Those astounding physical characteristics seemed to make Metcalf a likely first-rounder.

Instead, Metcalf fell to the end of the second round, where the Seahawks took him with the 64th overall pick.

Metcalf's explosiveness added a new element to Seattle's offense, though he certainly has room for improvement. Metcalf had seven drops last season and will look to clean up the catch percentage as Wilson and Co. hope to put up even more points in 2020.

The Seahawks ranked fifth in offensive DVOA, per Football Outsiders. They have since done some work to upgrade the offensive line to provide a cleaner pocket for Wilson, which might, in turn, lead to better results for Metcalf.
