The Seattle Seahawks have advanced to the divisional round of the NFC Playoffs with their win over the Philadelphia Eagles thanks to the efforts of wide receiver DK Metcalf. It seems he had no shortage of motivation to put on a spectacular performance in his first playoff game.

Metcalf hauled in seven catches for a rookie playoff record 160 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks' 17-9 win over the Eagles. He credits coming into the league as a second-rounder as the reason for his success during his interview after the game.

“It’s great. I think falling to the second round was the best thing that happened to me because I’ve got the chip on my shoulder every time I play,” Metcalf said, via Pro Football Talk.

Thanks to his spectacular day at the combine, Metcalf emerged as one of the most high-profile prospects in the 2019 NFL Draft. While he made headlines with his shirtless pictures on social media, he followed through on the hype with the third-fastest 40-yard dash time by running a 4.33. Regardless, teams still felt he was too raw as a bonafide wideout and he ultimately dropped to Seattle with 64th overall pick.

It's clear at this point that Metcalf has wasted no time in proving all of his doubters wrong by finishing the 2019 campaign with 58 catches for 900 yards and seven touchdowns. Only two other rookie wideouts from the same draft class put up better numbers than he did.

Performances in crunch time like this only help to further his status as perhaps one of the biggest steals and he is not going to let the other teams forget about it any time soon.
