Seattle Seahawks star DK Metcalf is one of the fastest players in the NFL and has previous experience on the track. That's exactly why he tried to make the US Team for the Tokyo Summer Olympics, but it didn't exactly go to plan.

While Metcalf ran a 10.36 100-yard dash in Eugene, Oregon at the Qualifying Championships, that was a last-place finish. Nonetheless, he has his eyes set on appearing in the 2024 Olympics.

Via BR Gridiron:

“I’m in a boot right now so I can’t do too much, but next year I’ll start back training for it,” the Seahawks WR said. “In 2024 you’ll see me again.”

Pretty bold from the Seahawks wideout, especially because he doesn't even sprint full-time. While there's no doubting Metcalf is a phenomenal athlete, competing with the best in the world on track is a whole different level. It sure sounds like he's poised, though.

Seahawks fans won't be too pleased to hear this however because they'll be hoping his focus remains on football. DK had 12 touchdowns in 2021, but his catches and receiving yards were down from 2020. Although the Olympics plan is in the back of his mind, DK Metcalf will strictly be focused on rehabbing this offseason and getting prepared for 2022.
