Russell Wilson had been the Seattle Seahawks quarterback for a decade. Following his incredible career with the Seahawks is a tough task for any player. Someone will have to do it, though.

The player who is in line to take the reigns from Wilson is Drew Lock, one of the players the Broncos sent to Seattle to plan Wilson. The 25-year-old only has one full season of starting under his belt. He tied Carson Wentz for the most interceptions thrown in the 2020 season by throwing 15 of them in 13 starts.

Despite his poor track record and trade to a team that is on a losing trajectory, Lock is keeping his head up. He shared a message to the Seahawks franchise and fans before taking a single snap for them.

Lock will have wide receivers DK Metcalf and Tyker Lockett and tight end Noah Fant to work with, though the Seahawks offensive line is not very promising. Even if he improves greatly, Lock most likely won't be able to steer the team back to the playoffs if he gets the chance. If Seattle sees him as a long-term option, it would be wise to let him play through his growing pains.

The Seahawks don't have a clear answer at QB right now. They could bring in Colin Kaepernick, who has been working out with Lockett as he looks to make it back to the NFL. Head coach Pete Carroll didn't endorse the possibility, though.
