The Seattle Seahawks are in desperate need of some help with their pass rush, and there are still a couple of free agents available who can help them in that area. One is Jadeveon Clowney, who spent this past season with the Seahawks. However, Clowney is demanding a rather high price tag, one that Seattle is not willing to match. The other is the much more affordable Everson Griffen.

Several ESPN NFL experts have named the Seahawks as the best fit for Griffen, saying that he will not be as costly as Clowney, but is still productive.

Griffen voided his contract with the Minnesota Vikings earlier this offseason.

The 32-year-old is coming off of a 2019 campaign in which he played 15 games and registered 41 tackles, eight sacks and an interception en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

Griffen, who played his collegiate football at the University of Southern California, was originally selected by the Vikings in the fourth round (100th pick overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft.

The Avondale, Az. native didn't really break out until his third season, when he recorded 27 tackles, eight sacks, a pick and a couple of forced fumbles. He then logged his first double-digit sack campaign in 2014, totaling 58 tackles and 12 sacks.

Griffen proceeded to make three straight Pro Bowl appearances between 2015 and 2017, with his best year coming in 2017 when he racked up 45 tackles, 13 sacks and three forced fumbles.

The Seahawks won 11 games and made it to the Divisional Round of the playoffs this past season before being eliminated by the Green Bay Packers.
