The Seattle Seahawks received a boost to their pass-rush on Tuesday. According to Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News-Tribune, veteran Ezekiel Ansah joined for his first practice since signing with the team in May.

When the Seahawks signed Ansah, they knew he wouldn't be available immediately. At the time of inking the one-year $9 million deal, the former Detroit Lion was recovering from shoulder surgery. Then, he suffered a minor groin injury that kept him out when he was nearing his return.

On having the veteran pass-rushing at camp, coach Pete Carroll said on Monday, per ESPN's Brady Henderson:

“Really happy to get him out finally. It's been a long, rigorous return and he's busted his tail. He's made it. We were hoping he would make it before the final week (ahead of the opener), which he did. And so we'll take it and see how far he can go.”

Ansah has battled injuries throughout his NFL career. Despite that, the 30-year-old has amassed 48 sacks, 60 tackles for loss, and 110 quarterback hits in 80 career games played. In 2015, he recorded 14.5 sacks, in 2017, 12. So far, in his limited time back, he's shown signs that he's the healthy player that can make a difference as he did in years prior.

“He moved around fine,” Carroll said, via ESPN. “He went through the individual drills. He'll do more tomorrow. He's on his way back. Shoulder is healed and his groin is healed and he's ready to battle.”

It's unclear if Ansah will play week one; with L.J. Collier dealing with an ankle injury, the Seahawks could use his pass-rushing skill set sooner rather than later. Nonetheless, his recent training camp appearance means an increasing stock for Ansah and the Seahawks pass-rush.
