On “Monday Night Football” between the Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings, ESPN broadcaster Joe Tessitore switched to decaf.

Specifically, Tessitore accidentally called Seahawks rookie wide receiver DK Metcalf “Decaf Metcalf.” Naturally, the internet went ablaze with its newest NFL meme for the day. While those on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit and Instagram were laughing, a Georgia-based coffee company saw an opportunity to make some money.

Volcanica Coffee partnered with Metcalf last week to begin selling 16-ounce bags of “Decaf Metcalf” coffee on their website.

“Decaf Metcalf Blend is a blend of specialty coffee for DK Metcalf of the Seatle Seahawks. This is an exquisite blend of decaffeinated beans from Guatemala and Papua New Guinea distinguishable by it's sweet yet bold flavor and full rich body. This is the official coffee for DK Metcalf,” said Volcanica Coffee.

Inspired by the Monday Night Football game on December 2, 2019 when play-by-play broadcaster Joe Tessitore was in the middle of calling a DK Metcalf play, he called the super-strong rookie “Decaf Metcalf.” This accidental gaffe resulted in a social media explosion of fun jokes and memes.”

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, both Metcalf and Tessitore blessed the deal. In doing so, they made sure that part of the proceeds would go to charity.

Metcalf will donate part of the proceeds to Prison Fellowship, which helps prisoners, former prisoners and their families and is a leading advocate for justice reform. He has chosen the same charity for his My Cause My Cleats. Tessitore chose the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Both foundations will have logos on the back of the coffee bag.
