Seattle Seahawks tight end Greg Olsen suffered a ruptured plantar fascia in Thursday night's win over the Arizona Cardinals, but he does not want to rule out a return just yet.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported the veteran tight end is hoping to defy the odds and return at some point during the playoffs. Rapoport noted the Seahawks will have to play deep into the playoffs in order for Olsen to return, given the timeline for recovery is up to two months.

The Seahawks signed Olsen to a one-year deal this past offseason after the longtime Carolina Panthers tight end was cut by his former club.

Olsen had hardly been the most prolific pass-catcher prior to the injury. He had just 23 receptions for 224 yards and one touchdown. Then again, it is hard to have tremendous output playing alongside explosive receivers such as DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

Seattle would love to give Olsen the chance to play at least one more game. The Seahawks—for now—sit atop the NFC West after earning a crucial win over the Cardinals last night.

Seattle's defense managed to limit Kyler Murray and a high-scoring Arizona offense to just over 300 yards of total offense, shutting down the running game and getting after Murray in the backfield. Recently-acquired defensive end Carlos Dunlap had a big game, finishing the contest with a pair of sacks and four combined tackles.

The Seahawks will hope the defense can continue this high level of play going forward after it helped Seattle stop the losing skids. In fact, the defense holds the keys to unlocking the full potential of this team, and possibly going deep into the playoffs.
