The Seattle Seahawks are trying to work out a contract with star defensive back Jamal Adams before the season begins. However, Adams is still not at practice and Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll was asked about the absence of their defensive star.

Carroll's answer was rather interesting.

It isn’t different…It’s unique in the dynamic of it — it’s a big deal. We have been through a lot….But for the players going through it, it’s usually their first time, and they have to go through and get a sense of how its going, how they’re feeling about it, and figure it out. We have a little more background than the players do so we just have to go through it — we’ve worked very hard to make this work out and we’ll see what happens.”

What exactly does that mean? Nobody really knows, but Carroll's answer is extremely vague and one has to wonder when–or if–Adams reports to practice.

The situation remains unclear, and each week that passes by marks one week closer to the start of the regular season. After all, the Seahawks need Adams at practice, and even more, after they gave up a ton of draft picks to acquire him in a trade with the New York Jets.
