The Seattle Seahawks were down to the Pittsburgh Steelers at halftime on Sunday. Then, quarterback Russell Wilson led yet another second-half comeback, sealing a Seahawks win, 28-26.

For the newest Seahawk, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, Wilson's ability to come back played a major role in his interest in Seattle. Said Clowney after the game, via Bob Condotta of Seattle Times:

“That’s half the reason I wanted to come (to Seattle), because of Russ. He makes it happen. I don’t care what the score is — it could be 100-0 — he believes. As long as you got a guy like that, a guy who never quits.”

Wilson's efforts led Seattle to their first 2-0 start since 2013. The win is also head coach Pete Carroll's 100th as the leader of Seattle, fittingly enough on his 68th birthday. He finished the game going 29 for 35 for 300 yards and three touchdowns, no interception — it was Wilson's second straight without an interception.

Clowney, on the other hand, is still getting acclimated to Seattle after his trade from the Houston Texans on cut-down day. He finished his second game as a Seahawk with two combined tackles and a pass deflection. In his first game, Clowney tallied two combined tackles, a sack, a tackle for loss, a quarterback hit, and a pass deflection.

With Clowney now in Seattle, his gone from one fearless leader, in Deshaun Watson, to another, more experienced one in Russell Wilson. His new job: follow Wilson, get to the quarterback, and continue to make those “Clowney” type plays in the Pacific Northwest.
