The Seattle Seahawks would love to have Jadeveon Clowney return to the team. And Quandre Diggs made it known that he wants him back next season. While Clowney remains in free agency, Diggs told Clowney to “come home” in a post on Twitter.

Ahead of the 2019 trade deadline, the Seahawks acquired Diggs from the Detroit Lions. Over the course of his five starts with Seattle, Diggs contributed 21 tackles, three pass breakups, and three interceptions.

But before Diggs even became a thought for the Seahawks, they made a trade to add Clowney via trade with the Houston Texans prior to the 2019 season. The former No. 1 pick would deal with a nagging core injury in 2019, having a disappointing season by his standards.

Altogether, Clowney notched three sacks, four forced fumbles, and a pick-six with the Seahawks this past season. Despite his discouraging season in 2019, Seattle has made an effort to retain Clowney in free agency. As a matter of fact, the Seahawks have reportedly offered him a deal worth $18.5 million annually.

However, Clowney has been seeking a long-term contract that pays him an excess of $20 annually on the open market. As of this moment, there hasn't been a team that is willing to pay him his asking price.

Therefore, Clowney may have to settle for a one-year, prove-it deal before hitting free agency again in 2021. In the event that he signs a one-year deal, it would make sense for him to return to the Seahawks this offseason. There's no mistaking the fact that Diggs is on board with Seattle bringing back the freakish edge rusher in 2020.
