Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday's win over the San Francisco 49ers, and it remains to be seen what his status is for this weekend's Wild Card matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll hinted Adams will push hard to play:

“I haven’t seen him today,” Carroll said, via Brady Henderson of ESPN. “He’s real disappointed. He wants to play and he wants to get out there. He hasn’t been to the playoffs and he wants to be part of it and all that, so it kind of crushed him. He’s very emotional and all, and he’s going to deal with it.

The Seahawks coach also noted that the team will monitor Adams' progress:

We’ll see what happens today and the next couple of days, see how he feels and all. But he got hurt, and he handled it, wanted to go back in. We had to take his helmet away and all that on the sidelines because he wanted to fight with his guys. So we’ll see what happens. I can’t tell you right now. I don’t know.”

Adams missed four games earlier in the year due to a groin issue and is now facing another setback at the worst of times. The All-Pro was nothing short of prolific for the Seahawks, finishing the year with 9.5 sacks and 11 tackles for a loss in just 12 games at the safety spot.

Adams, who spent the first two seasons of his career with the New York Jets, was adamant in his excitement about reaching the playoffs. Whether he will have the chance to play for the Seahawks this weekend, however, appears to be somewhat up for grabs.

The Seahawks will hope Adams progresses throughout the week and is deemed ready to play for Saturday's game against the Rams.
