The Seattle Seahawks are heading into a brand new era in 2022 after Russell Wilson was shockingly traded to the Denver Broncos a few weeks ago. The organization did get a quarterback in return though in Drew Lock, but Pete Carroll made one thing clear on Tuesday: The Seahawks are far from done in the quarterback market.

Via Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times:

“We are totally in the mentality that the fourth guy may be important to us for the long haul,” Carroll said. “So we are definitely still in the quarterback business.”

“There are some veterans out there to be had,” Carroll said. “There are still some guys out there. Yeah, we are still looking.”

The Seahawks currently have Lock and former Colts QB Jacob Eason on the roster, while Geno Smith is expected to re-sign. Lock is probably going to be the starter, but Seattle is definitely eyeing other signal-callers elsewhere. Colin Kaepernick was briefly on their radar, but it appears the ship has sailed.

To be honest, Baker Mayfield feels like a perfect fit. He's enjoyed success in the NFL and could step in and start right away. Lock has potential, but Baker is clearly looking for a new home after the Cleveland Browns traded for Deshaun Watson.

It's going to be very tough for the Seahawks to replace a QB like Wilson, but the more options, the better.
