The Seattle Seahawks have been without safety Quandre Diggs for the last couple of weeks due to a high-ankle sprain, but they may have him back for their Wild Card Round matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday.

During an appearance on ESPN 710, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that the expectation is that Diggs will “be ready to go this week,” which would be a major boon for Seattle's defense, especially after losing linebacker Mychal Kendricks to a major knee injury that is believed to be a torn ACL in their loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night.

Of course, Diggs will have to make it through practice this week before his status can be deemed official.

The Seahawks acquired Diggs in a midseason trade with the Detroit Lions, sending a fifth-round draft pick to the Lions in exchange for his services.

In five regular-season games with Seattle this year, Diggs logged 21 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a defensive touchdown. He totaled 41 tackles in 10 games between the Lions and Seahawks overall.

Seattle finished the 2019 regular season with a record off 11-5, losing out on the NFC West to the 49ers, who clinched the division title with their Week 17 win over the Seahawks.

Diggs is far from Seattle's only injury, either.

The Seahawks have seen both of their top running backs in Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny go down for the season, leading to Seattle bringing back Marshawn Lynch.

There have also been a plethora of other injuries on the defensive side of the ball.
