It was reported on Friday that Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor was going the way of the dinosaurs. That his injury would sideline him for the remainder of the season. Now, however, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll says the team hasn't decided what to do with him yet.

“We’re still looking at what our options are, and we’ll continue to do that and re-evaluate what’s going on,” Carroll told reporters on Saturday. “We’re working very closely with him on that. That’s it.”

When pressed for the idea that this injury may be a long-term issue, Pete Carroll remained vague.

“We’ll wait and see, we’ll just wait and see,” Carroll said. “We’re working through it like I said, and we’re hanging together, and just trying to talk our way through it and not have to do anything any faster than we have to. We’ll just wait and see.”

At the very least, Kam Chancellor will not play this week for Seattle. Outside of that, it appears the National Football League franchise would like to keep this on a week-to-week basis. It would obviously help everyone involved, at least in terms of information gathering, if the Seahawks weren't being so vague in describing the safety's current situation.

With more time being had to evaluate him, it is possible that the public will have more information about Chancellor's injury during the week. If not then, maybe the week after. It does really appear, though, as if Carroll is trying to hold out hope that the injury isn't as severe as originally reported.
