It's no secret that Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner is entering the final year of his deal, but there hasn't seemed to be much movement on that front thus far.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll was asked about negotiations with Wagner on Tuesday, and he chose to remain mum on the situation:

“We've agreed to not say anything about what's going on,” said Carroll, per Derek Lewis of 247Sports.

However, Carroll made sure to commend Wagner for how he has handled everything, as he has had no problems participating in Seattle's offseason program:

“He handled it beautifully,” said Carroll. “Bobby's an incredible player in this program. Everything that he does, his presence is obvious. He's been around for everything. He's been involved with everything and he's handled it exactly the way he should under these circumstances.”

Given that the Seahawks don't exactly have the best track record with extending their best players, especially on the defensive end, there may be some reason for concern about the fact that Wagner still doesn't have a deal. But there doesn't appear to be any bad blood, which is great news.

Wagner is coming off a 2018 campaign in which he played 15 games and racked up 138 tackles, a sack, an interception, a couple of forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, 11 passes defended and a defensive touchdown en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

The 28-year-old has made five straight Pro Bowl appearances overall and has earned First-Team All-Pro honors four times over that span.
