Head coach Pete Carroll led his Seattle Seahawks into the “City of Brotherly Love” and managed to gain a road victory against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Jadeveon Clowney stood tall.

With Carroll quickly praising his defense following his team's latest win, the Seahawks head coach made a point to point out the play of pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney, who dominated against the Eagles.

Clowney is currently in his first season as a member of the Seahawks. The longtime Houston Texans defender notably made his Seahawks postseason debut on Sunday against the NFC East champion Eagles.

However, Carroll knew exactly what he was getting with Jadeveon Clowney upon acquiring him from the Texans. Carroll first noticed the standout defender when the Seahawks and Texans battled it out back in 2017.

“[Clowney] played great football,” Carroll said following that 2017-18 win over Houston, via the team's official website. “We thought we would be able to run the ball some, but he was a big factor in causing problems in the backfield.”

On Sunday afternoon against the Eagles, Jadeveon Clowney produced five tackles and one sack, which came at a pivotal portion of the game as Philadelphia was driving down the field in the fourth quarter.

Thanks to Jadeveon Clowney and others, the Seahawks managed to hold on to capture a narrow but hard fought 17-9 win on the road in Philadelphia.

Now, the Seahawks will once again hit the road while this time getting ready to battle the Green Bay Packers.
