The Seattle Seahawks are entering the 2019 campaign with a very thin receiving corps. Other than Tyler Lockett, there is not much to talk about when it comes to the Seahawks' wide receivers.

Gone is long-time veteran Doug Baldwin, who has dealt with a myriad of injuries and was cut by Seattle earlier this offseason. Sure, the Seahawks drafted D.K. Metcalf, but he is incredibly unproven.

That means there will be a lot of pressure on Lockett to have a great year, but head coach Pete Carroll thinks he will be up for the challenge.

“He senses it, I’m sure, just by the way he’s expressing himself,” said Carroll, according to John Boyle of the Seahawks' official team website. “His background, experience, success that he’s had, he’s naturally in that position right now. I’ve seen a number of instances already where it’s obvious that he gets it. You kind of grow into it, and he’s doing that.”

Lockett is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he hauled in 57 receptions for 965 yards and 10 touchdowns while catching an incredible 81.4 percent of the passes thrown his way.

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Kansas State, was originally selected by Seattle in the third round (69th pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He made the Pro Bowl and earned a First-Team All-Pro selection during his rookie season due to his versatility, as he was not only a fine receiver, but a big threat in the return game.

Lockett is yet to make a Pro Bowl since, but 2019 could be a breakout year for the Tulsa, Ok. native.
