The Seattle Seahawks picked up wide receiver Josh Gordon off waivers on Friday, and while Gordon did not play during the Seahawks' overtime win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, he is expected to suit up in Seattle's Week 10 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.

As for what Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll is expecting from Gordon? He is taking it slow:

“I just visited with Josh for the first time in person and we talked about just getting started,” said Carroll, according to Brady Henderson of ESPN.com. “No expectations about what's going to happen on any timelines. Just get going.”

Carroll added that the Seahawks “don't know where he fits into the group yet” and that “he's got to earn what he's going to get.”

Gordon began the 2019 campaign with the New England Patriots, playing in six games with the club before being sidelined for Week 7 due to a knee injury. The Patriots then placed him on the injured reserve list, a puzzling move considering that Gordon's knee issue was not thought to be that severe.

It was then revealed that New England planned on releasing Gordon, and on Thursday, the Pats waived him.

The Patriots were apparently not happy with Gordon's work ethic, as the 28-year-old reportedly showed up late to some team meetings and was difficult for coaches to locate on occasion.

Gordon also was not too productive this year, logging just 20 catches for 287 yards and a touchdown.

Seattle is 7-2 this season and has gotten a lot from Tyler Lockett and rookie DK Metcalf, so it will certainly be interesting to see how Gordon fits into the equation.
