The Seattle Seahawks were able to add another weapon to the passing game in wide receiver Phillip Dorsett this offseason. It seems the prospect of playing alongside quarterback Russell Wilson was too good for him to pass up.

According to Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune, Dorsett admits that Wilson played an major role in his decision to sign with Seattle for the 2020 NFL season:

“I think this can be my best year.” Says Russell Wilson’s accuracy on deep throws was “definitely something I was aware of…one of those things that attracted me to Seattle.”

Dorsett's comments are indicative of the respect Wilson garners from wide receivers around the league. He is hoping that it will help pay huge dividends for him to get back on track in the 2020 campaign.

Dorsett finds himself in familiar territory catching passes from one of the NFL's elite quarterbacks. After all, he spent the last three seasons with the New England Patriots and before that had started his career with the Indianapolis Colts while Andrew Luck was still under center.

Unfortunately, it this has done little to help Dorsett fit the billing as a former first-round pick. Although he managed to haul in a career-high five touchdowns, he was unable to establish himself as a go-to weapon for Brady after registering just 29 receptions for 397 yards in the 2019 campaign.

Fortunately, Dorsett has a chance to etch out an integral role for himself as a viable option for Wilson by securing the No. 3 spot in the receiving corps behind Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf.
