If the Seattle Seahawks trade DK Metcalf, they won't just be losing a wide receiver. Pro Bowl safety Quandre Diggs warned that he's also “gone” if that happens.

After the Seahawks signified a rebuild by trading Russell Wilson, much of the questions thrown at the team involved Metcalf and his future with the franchise. The star wide receiver has been rumored to be on his way out since many believe his focus is to be part of a Super Bowl contender, and it is certainly concerning for Seattle that he is entering his contract year this 2022 season.

New England Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon fueled those speculations even more when he posted a rather cryptic tweet saying that Metcalf is “on the clock.” While that could mean an entirely different thing, the fact that he used pen and performing arts emojis suggest he's talking about his contract.

After seeing that tweet, Quandre Diggs couldn't help but respond. He asked for Judon to “stop it” before sending a strong message to the Seahawks and the rest of the NFL that he won't be staying if a DK Metcalf trade were to happen.

The pressure is on the Seahawks to make a decision sooner rather than later. It doesn't look like Diggs is joking about his desire to leave, which could lead to Seattle blowing up its roster fully and enter on a massive rebuild.

For what it's worth, head coach Pete Carroll recently expressed his desire to reach an extension with Metcalf. He did admit they haven't started discussions yet about a new deal as they address other roster moves following the Wilson trade, but that doesn't mean they are one less bit interested in keeping their young wideout.

“We intend for him to be with us. We'd love to figure that out,” Carroll told reporters, per Bob Condotta of Seattle Times. “We are in a normal kind of mode this time of year. We have not gotten to that topic yet specifically because we've got so many other things going on, but we'd love to have him.”

As for Metcalf, he has said before that he wants to stay long-term in Seattle. While he made that statement before Wilson was traded, it doesn't seem like his stance has changed. He confessed he was shocked the Seahawks moved on from Wilson and saddened when the released Bobby Wagner, but as for his future, he has a different perspective.

“It's my time in Seattle, now. That's the way I look at it,” Metcalf said in a recent appearance on KG certified.

It is unknown what the Seahawks really plan to do with Metcalf. While they are saying publicly that they want him to stay, things could be different behind the scenes. After all, they were also saying the same thing before about Wilson only to send him away to the Denver Broncos.

Perhaps Metcalf and the Seahawks are waiting until next offseason to discuss about their partnership. Depending on how the 2022 season pans out with Drew Lock under center, it could have a major impact on their decisions. Seattle still has the option to use the franchise tag on Metcalf anyway to keep him for a couple more years if they fail to reach a new contract.

For sure that's some good news for Diggs.
