The Seattle Seahawks have an important game ahead of them as they face the New Orleans Saints. However, they may have to play in Week 3 without one of their young running backs in Rashaad Penny.

The second-year playmaker injured himself during light training and is now listed as questionable to play, per Pro Football Talk. He most likely pulled his hamstring during practice. Depending on his condition on game day, he may not see any action.

However, he isn’t the only man who is questionable to play for the Seahawks. Charean Williams added names to the list.

The team also made cornerback Tre Flowers a late addition, listing him as questionable after he injured his ankle at Thursday’s practice. Jamar Taylor or Akeem King would start for Flowers.

The Seahawks also list free safety Tedric Thompson (hamstring) as questionable. He missed last week’s game with his injury.

Offensive lineman Ethan Pocic (neck) and cornerback Neiko Thorpe (hamstring) are doubtful.

Williams had a subpar outing against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He carried the ball ten times for a meager 62 yards. However, he managed to complete a 37-yard touchdown run against Pittsburgh.

John P. Gilbert of Field Gulls discussed how divisive the running back has been for the team and its fans in his two seasons with Seattle.

Penny, of course, has been a topic of debate among Seahawks fans who have argued whether or not the team should have used a first round pick on a running back.

Penny wasn’t exactly effective on the drive, gaining just five yards on three carries. Thus, when it came time to put up or shut up and the team needed a single yard on 4th & 1 to ice the game, Penny was back on the bench and the team was calling Carson’s number.

It’s likely that he won’t play on Sunday. If he does, however, he may not even get a lot of snaps on the field.
