The Seattle Seahawks are hoping to get back into the win column on the road versus the Carolina Panthers in Week 15. It seems quarterback Russell Wilson is on the cusp of making franchise history.

According to the team's PR, Wilson has a chance to pass quarterback Matt Hasselbeck as the franchise leader in passing yards:

Wilson is coming off a rough outing after completing 22-of-36 passes for 245 yards and an interception in the 28-12 loss versus the Los Angeles Rams. Regardless, there is still good reason to be optimistic that he can reach the milestone given this favorable matchup against Carolina.

Wilson had been considered to be one of the frontrunners for MVP following a stellar start to the 2019 NFL season. Unfortunately, he has cooled off significantly in recent weeks, especially in the yardage department. Although he may no longer be in the running for MVP, he still has a chance to secure some favorable seeding for the Seahawks once the playoffs roll around.

The loss to Los Angeles forced Seattle to relinquish their divisional lead over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC West. Fortunately, they still have a chance to get back on top if they win out. This will include a pivotal matchup against San Francisco at home in the season finale.

Of course, Wilson must make sure that his team is not looking ahead until they take care of the task at hand. The only thing that could spoil him becoming the Seahawks' all-time leader in passing yards is if it happens during a loss.
