Seattle Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf has only played 22 games in his NFL career (including playoffs), but that's apparently enough to earn the highest of praises from his quarterback, Russell Wilson.

Metcalf caught 58 passes on 100 targets for 900 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie, then recorded 11 catches for 219 yards and a touchdown in two playoff games.

Through the first four games of his sophomore campaign, the former Ole Miss star has produced 16 catches for 403 yards and three touchdowns, plus one extremely regrettable fumble. He ranks third in the league in receiving yards and first in yards per reception (25.2).

Metcalf rocketed up draft boards in 2019 after an other-worldly combine in which he ran a 4.33 40-yard dash. Clearly, that straight-line speed has become his greatest asset at the next level. In fact, according to his All-Pro QB, Metcalf is already “the best in the world at what he does.”

“He’s continued to evolve into one of the best receivers in the game.” Wilson said about the sophomore wideout on Thursday, via the Seattle Times. “Not to be shy about it, I think he is one of the top receivers in the game. He can do it all — he can run by you, he can jump over you, he can get physical with you. … He just approaches the game the right way.”

Seattle was able to nab Metcalf in the second round (No. 64 overall) of the 2019 draft. As he continues to improve and round out his skill set with each passing week, that pick looks increasingly like an all-time steal.

Wilson's MVP-caliber play and Metcalf's breakout season has led the Seahawks to an impressive 4-0 start and has them atop the formidable NFC West. On Sunday, they'll take on the 1-3 Minnesota Vikings at CenturyLink Field.
