Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones continues to generate intrigue in the offseason. With the Falcons still wanting to trade Jones, another report has surfaced about another NFC West team in the form of the Seattle Seahawks that had shown interest in the wide receiver. In fact, according to Dianna Russini of ESPN, the discussion got to a point where Russell Westbrook spoke with Jones about the potential of forming a duo with him in Seattle.

“The Falcons continue to field calls from teams interested in trading for Julio Jones. The Seahawks have had discussions about a possible trade with Atlanta, per sources. In fact, QB Russell Wilson & Julio Jones have spoken to discuss the possibility of playing together.”

It has become clear, based on reports, that the Falcons had a hard time convincing teams of taking Jones for the price Atlanta is asking prior to the 2021 NFL Draft.

Although nothing is concrete yet, the thought of Russell Wilson having the luxury of a downfield duo in DK Metcalf and Julio Jones or Tyler Lockett and Jones must be very salivating for Seahawks fans. That would definitely be a shot in the arm of the Seahawks' passing attack that averaged only 240.2 yards in the air per game in the 2020 NFL season, good for just 18th overall in the league.

Then again, the same fans would be happy if the Seahawks shore up their offensive line instead of plotting a trade that could land them a star wide receiver, especially after a season in which Wilson was thrown to the ground a lot.
