The Seattle Seahawks made some noise in the NFL world on Wednesday after giving Tyler Lockett a new contract extension. The Seahawks are giving Lockett a four-year $69.2 million extension, which also includes $37 million guaranteed, per Adam Schefter.

After catching the attention of the NFL, his teammates seem to like the news as well. Russell Wilson sent a tweet to Tyler Lockett, celebrating the new deal. Wilson and Lockett have been connecting on passes since 2015, which just so happens to have been Lockett's rookie year of his career.

Additionally, star wide receiver DK Metcalf expressed his excitement as well. He shared a GIF of two young children running to each other and embracing in a hug. It looks like Metcalf's best friend will remain a Seahawk for longer than anticipated.

With the recent news of Wilson's displeasure, retaining Lockett might be enough to make the Seahawks' franchise quarterback happy for now. He's still in a great situation, as the team has plenty of talent around him. With Metcalf and Lockett locked into the Seahawks rotation for the next few years, Wilson has his two favorite targets on board for the long haul.

Metcalf has become the best wide receiver on the team in a short amount of time. However, Lockett is a solid second option for the Seahawks. Last year, Locket reeled in 100 receptions, 1,054 yards, and 10 touchdowns, making him a very solid target for Wilson.

Being in one of the toughest divisions in the league in the NFC West, this is a big extension for the Seahawks. Between this deal and the Gabe Jackson trade, Wilson should be feeling good about his future in Seattle.
