The season continues to slowly slip away from the Seattle Seahawks after losing to the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday night, 20-10. The Seahawks dropped to 5-9 and things are not looking peachy for Russell Wilson and company.

In a contest between two sides ravaged by COVID-19 protocols, the Seahawks and the Rams failed to reach the end zone in the first half. Wilson, in particular, struggled all game. He only ended up 17-0f-31 for 156 yards. He also blundered a pass to wide receiver DK Metcalf in the fourth quarter, which could've kept the Seahawks in the game.

Wilson has been chided for his lack of connections with Metcalf all season. After the game, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll sounded off on the matter, although he did not point fingers at either Wilson or Metcalf (via Adam Jude of The Seattle Times).

“They're trying their ass off to play right. They're working on their stuff, their routes, their concepts. The calls are there. We're trying to get the ball there. We've just got to throw it and catch it and we've got to make the plays and we've got to get the job done.”

At this point, inflaming both Wilson and Metcalf is the last thing Carroll needs. So it's wise for him to not throw veiled shots and just assume accountability. The Seahawks can still squeeze through the NFL Playoffs, but their chances are getting slimmer by the week.

With the loss to the Rams, Carroll's streak of nine consecutive winning seasons with the Seahawks got snapped. They will host the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
