Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has always been a charitable person, but after signing a record four-year, $140 million contract extension earlier this week, the quarterback went above and beyond in an effort to reach out with his offensive line.

According to a report from TMZ via ESPN, Wilson gifted each of his offensive linemen with $12,000 in Amazon stock. In a letter to all 13 members of the offensive line, the quarterback thanked each and every one of them for protecting him on game days.

“You sacrifice your physical and mental well-being to protect me, which in turn allows me to provide and care for my family,” Wilson wrote in the letter. “This does not go unnoticed and it is never forgotten.” Wilson went on to say that he wanted to give the group a gift that would have a lasting impact on the lives of them all, as they have done so with him. “You have invested in my life,” Wilson wrote, “this is my investment into yours.”

Wilson’s recent deal with the Seahawks made him the highest-paid player in the league, something that seems to happen with every quarterback contract.

Of course, Wilson will likely be eclipsed at some point in the future by another young quarterback, but for now, the investment made by the Seahawks shows that the team is committed to him and to winning.

To his credit, Wilson has done a tremendous job growing not only as a quarterback, but as a leader for a Seahawks team that has lost many of its more well-known talent throughout the years.

While the Seahawks were known more for their ferocious defense, the team is now seemingly getting fully behind Wilson, and with Wilson only just turning 30-years old, the sky is the limit for the team with him behind center.
