Most know Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf for his shirtless workouts, and his ability to fly by defenders on the field but quarterback Russell Wilson is most impressed by something else, his intelligence.

Wilson and Metcalf have gotten in a lot of work the last few weeks and Wilson has picked up on just how intelligent of a player he is, and how well he understands the game.

“Everybody knows about his ability to run and everything else, and jump and catch and all that,” Wilson said via ESPN. “You guys have been talking about that for months, but I think more than anything else, it's his brain and how he processes information and how quickly he understands it. He's really intelligent. He really understands the game really well. He takes coaching really well. He gets extra work. He's a legit pro wide receiver. He's everything that everybody was talking about in terms of what he's capable of and more.”

There were a lot of questions about Wilson's route running and his NFL readiness heading into the draft but hearing these type of comments from Wilson have to be reassuring for Seahawks fans.

Being a one trick pony in the NFL usually doesn't work, especially being a wide receiver but the hope is that he can be more than that.

Being a smart football player is going to really help his chances to make it and become a solid receiver, and hopefully, the rest of things that he needs to work on will come with time.
