The Seattle Seahawks got a shiny new toy this offseason in the form of star safety Jamal Adams. It sure sounds like the move brought nothing but smiles to franchise quarterback Russell Wilson.

From Michael David Smith's report on ProFootballTalk, Wilson spoke passionately about how highly he thinks of Seattle's latest acquisition:

“Jamal’s a fiery guy. I love him,” Wilson said. “He’s passionate about the game, he’s one of the best players in the game, for sure, one of the best defensive players. He can do it all. He’s got the energy, he’s got the passion, he’s got the energy, he’s got the knowledge. He brings something, for sure, to our team, not just for the defense, for our whole football team. He’s a great leader. He’s going to be a great football player for a long time. I’m glad he’s on our team.”

Getting Wilson's support is huge for the Seahawks, given the fact that the team gave up a massive haul for the former Jets star. Seattle gave up a 2021 first-round pick, 2022 first-round pick, and a 2021 third-round pick, as well as their own safety in Bradley McDougald.

Adams became just the 8th NFL player since the turn of the millennium to be traded for two first rounders. The deal is clearly a huge win-now move for the Seahawks, and it sounds like Russell Wilson is all for it.

Jamal Adams is definitely a gem after all. In his first three seasons, the safety has recorded 25 pass breakups, six forced fumbles, and two interceptions. On top of that, he's tallied 12 sacks and 28 total tackles for a loss.

With the addition of Jamal Adams, the Seattle Seahawks have the Lombardi trophy within their sights this season.
