The Seattle Seahawks made it back to the playoffs this past season after a brief one-year hiatus in 2017, and Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson likes the direction in which the franchise is going:

“We came in this offseason, in OTAs and it was all a fresh new start,” Wilson said during an interview with Pro Football Talk live. “The leaders like myself, Bobby Wagner, Doug Baldwin, Tyler Lockett, Duane Brown, Justin Britt, we came in and we revamped the meeting room, revamped the feel of how we practice, the locker room. This is a new year, a new time.”

Seattle won 10 games and earned a Wild Card spot in the NFC, but ultimately fell to the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.

Wilson feels like things could have gone better for the Seahawks had a few breaks gone their way:

“We’re a little disappointed we’re not here right now,” Wilson said. “I go back to the Rams game, at home, they were undefeated at the time, we had the ball at the 31-yard line to win the game.”

On the season, Wilson threw for 3,448 yards, 35 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 65.6 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 110.9 en route to his fifth Pro Bowl appearance.

The 30-year-old was originally selected by Seattle in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft and has been starting under center for the Seahawks ever since, leading the team to a Super Bowl title during the 2013-14 campaign and back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, as Seattle also made the big game the following season, but fell to the New England Patriots.
