The Seattle Seahawks have welcomed a number of new faces to the offense this offseason. It appears wide receiver D.K. Metcalf has already made quite the impression on quarterback Russell Wilson.

Wilson has gotten a good look at Metcalf through OTAs and mandatory minicamp. According to Adam Jude of The Seattle Times, he likes what he sees from the rookie:

“DK is looking really, really special. He can do anything and everything. He’s tremendous.”

Wilson added that he is surprised at how quickly the new additions have grasped the offense.

“I’m kind of shocked at how good we’ve been in terms of the young guys coming in, the new receivers, the tight ends and everybody else — just how everything’s clicked in such a smooth way. I feel like I’ve been doing it for years with these guys.”

It is encouraging to see that Wilson is optimistic about their improvement this offseason. The departure of wide receiver Doug Baldwin has left a notable void in the receiving corps. Metcalf will have an opportunity to potentially make an immediate impact on offense.

The former Ole Miss product burst onto the scene with his stellar performance at the NFL's Scouting Combine. He generated plenty of buzz due to his rare blend of size and speed. Despite his raw potential, there was still some concern about his modest production in college.

As a result, he ultimately fell down in the 2019 NFL Draft and Seattle was able to pick him up with the 64th overall pick. He will have a chance to prove himself as one of the draft's biggest steals if he continues to impress Wilson.
